Local 705 In Action

On June 9, 2025, over 100 Local 705 Teamsters at Mauser Packaging Solutions began their strike after the company failed to offer a fair and acceptable contract and illegally surveilled members. Members were demanding higher wages, better benefits, safer working conditions, and common-sense measures to prevent ICE from entering the workplace without a federal judicial warrant.

On September 22, 2025, the Company made the unexpected decision to close their doors rather than agree to the modest demands made by their employees. The Union and Company began bargaining for a fair and just severance package for employees who have spent decades working for the Company.

On November 21, 2025, the closure date of the Millard plant, the Company gave the Union hope that a fair and just agreement was within reach but then fell radio silent for over two weeks.

Today, Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino and armed CBP agents interrogated and laughed at our members while they were on the picket line, actions that are protected under the National Labor Relations Act. Fortunately, none of our members were detained.

"I want to thank Laura Garza and Jorge Mujica from ARISE-Chicago and Congressman Chuy Garcia for providing Know Your Rights training and resources so our members were able to think quickly and prevent further escalation by remaining calm instead of being provoked by the armed agents. I am proud these members were able to rise to the occasion and respond to this unprecedented attack on workers and the labor movement," said Teamsters Local 705 Secretary-Treasurer Juan Campos.

See the attached videos documenting our members interactions with Bovino and CBP. Mauser Teamsters have pledged to organize more rallies, and to continue striking, until Mauser delivers a fair agreement.
